A spice is a dried seed, fruit, root, bark, or vegetable substance primarily used for flavoring, colouring or preserving food. Spices are also used in medicinal, cosmetics, perfume production. Many spices have antimicrobial properties.

India is one of the biggest producers of spices in the world.Indian Spices are renowned for their gastronomic value which adds distinctive aroma and flavor to the foods. Indian spices have also been used in Ayurveda for their medicinal value.
